Ride The Wave

Hey lovely!
So… I got a new tattoo.

And just like a wave, always remember
Things must rise and crash before they get better
You can’t have smooth sailing
Without experiencing a few bumps along the way
Ride the wave out
and always remember
that this feeling doesn’t last forever.

I’ve wanted to get this tattoo for such a long time now, and I absolutely love it.
I went to Inka in Kemp Town to get this done, and it took less than 10 seconds.
You can watch my vlog from when I got my tattoo done here.

Do you have any significant tattoos on your body? I’d love to know in the comments!

Love always,
Danielle. x

Hi Dani! Love the tattoo and its meaning. I have a tattoo on my right bicep that represents my favorite Robert Frost poem: “The rain to the wind said,
    ‘You push and I’ll pelt.’
They so smote the garden bed
    That the flowers actually knelt,
    And lay lodged–though not dead.
I know how the flowers felt.” here is my tattoo 🙂

I have almost your exact wave, for the same purpose, on my rib cage. I am about to get my second one.. it will be a lotus flower. A lotus flower grows essentially in mud or very murky water. Every night, it goes back into the murky water, and in the morning it resurfaces untouched by the murk and muck just as beautiful as ever. I have suffered through depression as well, so this is a constant reminder for me. I hope you’re doing better. “This too shall pass.”

Great tattoo and amazing meaning behind it. I have two tattoos. One is a quote from my favourite poem and other is a word in my mother tongue, the other language I know that symbolizes strength and bravery.
Sending you the best wishes. Lots of love xx

I have an OM tattoo on my wrist. I have it there to always remind me of a higher power, all the beings in the universe coming together as one sound. All around it symbolizes positive vibes, good energy, a bigger meaning, and something peaceful. I love your new tattoo, I’m actually considering it! xx

Hi Danielle! I do not have any tattoos but I love this. I too struggle with anxiety and depression and the meaning behind your tattoo gives me hope that I too will have smooth sailing in my life and the way I am feeling now will not last forever. It seems like we are a lot alike in the way we are both introverts and can have trouble meeting people. I actually just got back on social media after being off of it for about 7 years. Not having it made me feel very isolated but at the same time I was always so scared of what people thought about me which kept me off of it. You being open about your struggles has made me brave enough to start being myself and put myself out there more, so..thank you!
Also, if you are ever in Nashville, Tennessee I would love to meet you!

    Hey Dani,
Just watched your vlog and also read this blog. Totally get where you’re coming from. Settling into a new country is so hard and scary especially since home is so far away. I’m a kiwi living in London, so I get ya 😊 .. If you’re ever keen to meet new people, I’m around x
